Ignite
Ignite is a dynamic youth, young adult and university ministry that exists to raise up the next generation of leaders to expand the Kingdom of God throughout the world. Ignite got its start in April 2010, as two campus ministries at Monmouth College, in Monmouth, IL, came together to increase their effectiveness of reaching students for Christ. Founded and overseen by a group of Monmouth College alum and students, Ignite is quickly growing beyond Monmouth College, impacting youth, young adults and students at various universities and in various towns around the world. Currently, our ministry includes:
- A full-fledged Ignite group at Monmouth College, with weekly gatherings, small group bible studies, monthly worship nights and more.
- Encounter Retreats held once a semester and over the summer, bringing in students from Monmouth College, Culver-Stockton College, Western Illinois University, McHenry Community College and young adults from East Peoria, Monmouth, Rockford, Galesburg, and Macomb, Illinois
- Impact Mission Trips held each summer to expand the ministry of Ignite and impact various youth, young adults and university students around the world
- Connection Trips held a few times each year, allowing key Ignite staff and members to connect with other ministries around the world, and expand the ministry of Ignite
- Leadership Resources to help students start and grow their own Ignite group
- Devotional Resources to help individuals grow in their personal faith
Where We’re Heading…
Some of our future plans include:
- Launching Ignite groups at various colleges in Illinois and around the world
- Bringing on full-time staff
- Host regional Encounter Retreats
- Expand Ignite into Europe
